Pet-Friendly Housing Resources

Finding (and keeping) a safe, comfortable home for pets can be challenging for pet owners. Pets are family and having them in a loving home is essential for their well-being. Pet-inclusive housing policies help reduce pet surrenders by making it easier for pet owners to find and maintain homes that welcome their animals. All pet owners should have equal access to pet-friendly housing, regardless of their background, location or resources.
There are a variety of resources to educate and empower staff, volunteers, pet owners, landlords and policymakers. Utilize these tools, examples and resources to help you navigate housing challenges in your community. The more we help people—especially those facing housing insecurity, financial hardship, or crisis—the fewer animals end up in shelters.
