Job Summary:
The Humane Society of Union County is looking for a dedicated Full or Part-Time Veterinarian to join our team at the Monroe Low Cost Spay Neuter Clinic. Our practice is focused on reducing pet overpopulation by providing high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter and wellness services to the animals of Union County and the surrounding areas. This opportunity is ideal for a veterinarian with a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of animals in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries at our clinic, averaging approximately 20+ surgeries/day.
- Provide basic wellness care, including vaccinations and deworming, to animals coming from the Humane Society rescue program.
- Implement and adhere to the Association of Shelter Veterinarians Guidelines for spay/neuter surgeries and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate empathy and professionalism in all interactions with clients, patients, and colleagues.
- Collaborate effectively with the clinic team on complex veterinary cases and operational issues.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) or equivalent from an accredited school.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of North Carolina.
- Experience with high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgery. Training in shelter medicine or HQHVSN (high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter) preferred.
- Comfort and competence working with feral or unsocialized animals.
- A commitment to professional development and staying abreast of the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
